Mounts Bay (Albion)?

Mounts Bay who in the past had a big tie to Cornish Pirates name a side this weekend that includes 4 loan players from Albion and 4 players who have had recent connections with Albion in their starting line-up.

Mounts Bay are at home to London Scottish in the last ever EDF Energy National Trophy. Bay thought that they were out of the competition but with Esher fielding an illegible player the Cornish side have been reinstated.

Darren Ritchie, Steve Johns, Jamie Salter and Ed King have all been named in the starting line-up to enhance their own players which include Dan Hawkes and Tim Matias who moved between the two clubs in the summer. Also Greg Goodfellow, who was thought to be signing for Albion after an evening appearance for the Warriors last season starts at 9 and Frazer Clivard who was playing for Warriors in the 06/07 season is also named.

Meanwhile Arran Cruikshanks seems to be on short term loan to Lydney.

Ed Lewsey is named on the bench for Chiefs as they take on Bedford with Tommy Hayes in the starting line-up.

Ben Gulliver has been named as captain for pirates and will be travelling back from Old Deer Park where England Women take on Italy on Saturday. (No he is not playing just supporting and watching the side.)

I watched Mounts Bay play Blaydon last Saturday and i have to say Ed King is a real quality player who has some serious gas, he took of on a run from inside his own half and not one of the Blaydon backs could get near him but just got dragged down by the full back at the last second otherwise he was going under the posts.

I never really know what to make of Darren Ritchie, the ability is there but not the confidence.

Steve Johns is a favourite with the Bay fans, real powerfull big hiting centre who always gives 100%.

Jamie Salter just gets better by the week.

I'm glad, C.P., that the lads are playing well. They certainly do in the Warriors and Jamie had a good game for Albion.

See they won again today: 6 - 5 to Lon Scottish.
