Warriors

Last week they were augmented by a number of 1st team bench players and came away with a win against Richmond. One of the stars of the match was Alex Jeffrey. Alex normally plays at scrum half but was drafted into a position on the wing. Using his speed he scored one and made at least one other try. Alex is at Ivybridge CC and was part of the Albion Apprentice squad. 

The newly renamed side had not won a match in the Canterbury Shield since London Welsh Druids back in September. This has to some extent been as a result of 1st team injuries and other players being loaned out to Mounts Bay. Whilst Ealing sit two places above Warriors with one more win credited some of our points have been awarded due to the opposition pulling out.

Ladies

The female side of Albion have had mixed fortunes this season. With a good start they were soon knocked back with a number of losses. Struggling on the road their last home fixture gave a lot of confidence to the squad when they were convincing winners over second placed side London Saracens.

This week they are likely to have to play without their International scrum-half Georgie Rozario. Georgie has yet been given permission to play from the England set-up, she started the match in Dublin last week. Gary Street, England's Head Coach, said that she was one of the highlights of the first half.  

Albion

On the 1st Nov when the Tigers travelled to Albion, they were lying 13th having finished 14th in the league last season. They went away from The Fortress with a loss, with Albion winning by 31 to 7. This time Albion travel the 300 miles to visit the Tigers, knowing that the Tigers still lie 13th in the table, and in the relegation zone

The Tigers ground in Park Lane has a capacity is 2500, but their average gate is less than a quarter of this at 603, so they’ll be plenty of room for Albion’s travelling supporters, having only won at home 3 times this season the tigers are in need of another home win, their worst home game was a loss to Leeds by 52 to 7, their best home game was against the Titans by 20 to 12. So with the Albion losing to the Titans the other week, the tigers will be confident of a win. This view will be reinforced by having several former Leeds players and a coach (Alex Rowlands) who worked for Doncaster last season.

Last week the tigers travelled to Coventry but lost 29 to 24, so this could be a closer game than we think

The tigers may not be the most affluent teams in the league, but they have some outstanding players, those to look out for:

Sam Woods (lock) who has represented New Zealand at under 16 and under 19’s, although has yet to score
Peter Swatkins (Wing) who joined the Tigers from Hartpury College has 12 tries
Paul Wilcox (Wing) has scored 7 tries
Phil Jones (Fly Half & Captain), who has previously played rugby league for Wigan and whose honours are playing for England A, England 7s and in the England team that played against the ‘famous’ Barbarians. Jones has scored 5 tries, 20 conversions, and 9 penalties.
Adam Newton (Back row), who has previously played for Sale and honours are playing for England under 18s, who scored 2 tries.
Lisiate Tafa (centre) has 3 tries
Ollie Cook (Back row) who joined the tigers from the Knights has score a try and has a yellow card

CD’s – tough one, as Albion's form has been a bit ‘lacking’, if they turn up and play an easy win for Albion by 10 points and a bonus point, if not will be anyone's game
