After the R.M. concert needed to have the goal posts removed for their very successful show the replacements have arrived. They are I believe some seventeen metres tall and are hinged at the base for easy maintaince.
This will be a vast improvement on the old posts when it apperared that on aoccasions it proved difficult if not impossible to give a correct call fom the touch judges as to wether points had been scored or not. Although it was said by many and I can also confirm from personnel expierence that mistakes can and do happen.
Lets hope that posts of seventeen meters in height will correct that decsrepancy, although my gut feeling is that we will still challenge the verdict of the officials wether it's for Albion or against, not an easy task methinks.

A good positive acquisition for the club. Hopefully they will intimidate the opposition and provide us with the opportunity to host more international games.
Was out at the Club yesterday after noon and there are now 4 gert big holes in the pitch! Guessing either someone's dog lost it's bone or their for the posts lol. Only a week til they'll be used in anger hope the cement drys in time
Having talked with Julian (the groundsman) the plan is to build the bottom components of the posts including crossbars, erect them and put a frame around them to ensure the are vertical and true on Monday, pour quick drying concrete on Tuesday and then finish building the posts on Wednesday once fully set. Should look great once done and hopefully Declan and the other kickers put lots of balls through the middle in the coming season
