The posts have arrived part 2.

The old posts having been removed after a bit of a fight are now being replaced with some state of the art posts that are designed to be easily maintained by way of having hinged bases which enable the club to readily access them when neccessary.

The old posts were set in concrete, which has now been removed by Interserve who are doing a fantastic job for the club maintaining the pitch which is showing signs of a much improved appearance for the start of the new season. This base has been now modified to take the new much bigger and taller set of goal posts and what with the work being done on the pitch you won't recognize it come the start of the coming season, it's looking a picture.

The size of the holes surprised me, being something like a 1.5 meters cube hole for each post, with probably about two tons of concrete needed to fill them in I guess.

This photo shows the initial concrete having been poured to set the post bases in and for them to be positioned exactly using lasers in order to get the posts in the correct position, the rest of the base to follow when the concrete has set.

And this is the easy way to fill a 1.5 meter hole for sure
