" Meet the players " evening Wednesday 3rd. September 2014

The meeting in the Midas marquee " Meet the Players" evening was a roaring success with some 17 odd tables all set up and well attended, we had a great time. The evening started with an open training session held on the pitch which keenly observed by an interested audience then inside for drinks and a chat while we waited for the players to get changed and to arrive in their matching attire, very smart they are these days as well, a credit to the club. Paddy Marsh then introduced all the staff and players in turn, and he was well versed in some entertaining snippets about each of the lads having researched his subjects well which when they were asked about made the evening a great success and very entertaining for all concerned.  A key moment during the evening was the usual cheque being presented to the club courtesy of the " 200" club for over £ 2500 which bought the total to over £ 30,000 which has been donated in this way, a brilliant effort from Vince over the years. This year if you remember the " 200" club are donating monies towards the new posts as well. One way you can add to this support in addition to joing the "200" club, for just £ 52 a year and to be entered into the monthly draw is to join in the luncheons they run at the club for a good old get together and a decent lunch whilst chatting about rugby and putting the world to rights, something we seem to be pretty good at, if your not in the swim why not join in once a month and meet up with new fellow supporters.

After the squad introductions, the shirts from last season were given out to the sponsors and Vince is seen here accepting the shirt for the " 200 " club sponsored player.

With this done we were all treated to a an excellent and plentifull hot fork buffet to enjoy along with two of the squad on each table to put our questions to and to get to know a little better, great fun. For me this years event was as good as any since we arrived at Brickfields and better than most.
