The old Club Shop turned trhough 90 degrees to serve as the main food outlet being close to the kitchen saving the transporting of food over to the Supporters marquee and clearing queues for food building up in the Clubhouse causing delays. The plan is to erect a canopy in due course to keep us dry while queuing.
It's worth a mention at this point to say that the bars will be situated this season only in the Clubhouse, the Supporters marquee the Y.G.S. marquee (old Acrynoms) when there is no match in place, and after the corporate meals have been served, the Midas. The Real Ale bar is now defunct.
And the food will be on the patio as mentioned, the two Pilgrims shops in the S.W. and N. E. corners of the ground and you can buy a pasty with your pint in the Supporters marquee.

The front of the marquee is being adapted for the use of social functions, weddings being the main function. These are becoming more and more frequent of late and bring in much needed additional finance for the club.
The sponsor is Steve Warren - Brown whose ecompany it is, many thanks go to Steve and all our other sponsors.
Preparations for artificial grass to be laid in front of the marquee, a flower area and a shelf to put your beer on whist cheering on the lads.

Thanks for this great update Noibla and the photos! Good to see the developments underway and looking forward to seeing them in various states of inebriation today!! So looking forward to it!!
Obviously a ton of work been done over the summer. Good to see that the walkways have been improved to make life easier for wheelchairs, pushchairs and those with mobility issues. In spite of our staitened circumstances, loads has been accomplished on (probably) not a whole load of moolah.
Pitch is looking good, too. Well watered in the recent dampness, but not too soft underfoot which bodes well for today.
Looks like there's going to be a whole new vibe off the field as well as on. Well done to indians, chiefs, contractors, sponsors and volunteers!

Agree with all of the above, also noticed we are getting close to Chief's prices at the bar & the new food outlet £3 pasties , £2 for half a carton of chips!!
i shouldn't worry about the prices . at twickenham finnal this year i paid £6 a pint (you got to keep the plastic pint with twickenham on ) and a pasty was £6 now thats expensive but enjoyable even so . if it helps our club i am happy with prices. the program for those intersested was £7.50 at brickfields i stuck with a tribute £3.20 fair enough i felt.

Plymquin3 , Brickfields is a long way from Twickenham! I agree if it helps the club fine , but taking advantage of loyal supporters many senior citizens by price increases at the bar . food outlets & ticket prices is not acceptable. We are a members club & that should be recognised by management.
I have a great idea. Lets underfund the team so we can reduce prices.
But then again we could keep the prices as they are and ensure we have a team to watch,
Those who don't like the prices don't have to buy.

I'm with you C.B. but tell me which flea pit did you go to. When I was a kid it was a tanner for Saturday pictures and as a teenager after playing football we went to the flicks for 1/9d and maybe fish and chips on the way back.
I can understand albion nut in that the prices go up from time to time but tell me of somewhere that they don't increase over time whatever you are buying ? even my pension from the government goes up. That's life as we know it.

I thought the prices weren't too bad, other than maybe the international fast food chains (KFC, McDonalds etc) try and get a meal or a pasty in town for £3, most people seem happy to pay £5 for a mocha frappychino latte (I believe it used to be called a cup of coffee)!
My programme was free on the gate, who charged £7.50? The ticket prices have been frozen at last years advance sales rates not gone up. I'm sure the club will be doing the usual offers for people who get to the ground before 2.45pm and the St Austell beer prices seemed reasonable anyway. I may not be able to beat noibla's 1/9d but do remember ha'penny chews on my walk back from school together with a tin of top deck shandy.
Yes Albion is a members club but it is also a business, if more members used it more regularly or for longer maybe the prices would fall as economy of scale could drive down overheads and enable better wholesale deals. Talk with Lisa or other management, or even a board member if you have a genuine complaint rather than trying to be one of Monty Python's Yorkshiremen.
As the rain came chucking down, I was offered a hefty curry for a quid, so I came away happy with my spend overall. The absence of six packs and advance ticketing mean I face an increase on ticket prices this year. So being on a variable/fixed income, the fixture list may face a little more scrutiny this season.
OK, the Club needs to balance the books and cut down on admin, but that cuts both ways...
Heard thru the grapevine that over 600 (TRP?) made it through the turnstiles this Saturday, so a reasonable turnout. Hopefully a few more will be tempted to turn out this coming Friday...
Club has to make revenue from whatever streams it can and if we don't like it we can drink and eat in elsewhere, eg Wetherspoons. At least you can drink and mingle with supporters unlike Argyle.
