CHILDRENS PLAY AREA

How many of us have used the play area that has been designated for any small children to use safely during games?

I've not noticed the area being used during the last season but there again I don't seem to use that part of the ground during the matches very much and I'm wondering if the project was being used by any of our or any other away supporters.

As far as I can remember the wall was erected by Graham Witts-Davis and his team from "Lift-it -Crane Hire" as part of the reorganizing that was put into operation last summer by Dawsey to improve the facilities for the supporters by way of laying some tarmac pathways from the top car park to pitch side in order that we could walk around the ground without needing a pair of wellingtons to keep dry, an excellent improvement.

And then as a result of the wall which borders the tarmac pathway being built, the corresponding area behind the wall where we could in seasons past sit under the shade of the trees in the summer drinking a beer or two and sweep up the leaves in the autumn was to be organized by the newly formed SPA body, "Supporters of Plymouth Albion", for use as a play area if I remember correctly.

It would be interesting to know if this was a success last season and of course a benifit to our supporters and their families so please let us know if you have used these facilities and what help they have been to you!

The photo below shows students from the Uni putting the finishing touches to the wall by way of painting it before painting a "Welome to Albion" logo on.

I don't recall seeing a play area last season despite of all the talk from SPA about the changes they were going to make!
It would be interesting for someone from SPA to come on this site and tell us what, in line with their stated objectives, they HAVE achieved in the last 18 months that actually helps the club.

The plan had been for it to be a childrens play area last season but I believe there was an issue in finding child minders so it only happened for 1 or 2 games.

I believe it will be back in use as a childrens play area this coming season - if all goes to plan.

The children's play area did not fruition because SPA failed to come fruition because SPA did not realise any person who is looking after children must be first approved official. There is a rumour that another are trying to over come that problem. That SPA are not involved in this proposal I understand but am ready to admit if I am wrong.

Certainly hoping the player area is up and running as I want to test my new knee on the bouncy castle.

Yes I have used that area we used it as a workshop when carrying repairs on the old North stand. There was also a bar there the travel hut and lastly a pasty shop, yes I used this area and with pleasure thereveven table and chairs to sit and enjoy a pint. This of course GOD got involved.
Yes I remember it well and it was well used.
