Match preview: Chinnor vs Albion
By Igwok
November 13 2021
Today Albion make their way to visit the Oxfordshire town of Thame, home of Chinnor RFC.
Chinnor, despite being 5th in the league, have been somewhat inconsistent this season having won 3 of their 8 outings to date. Although they won their last game, this was against Tonbridge Juddians who now prop up the league. Curiously, their campaign has been front-loaded with home games with today's game being the 6th.
In each of their games that they have lost they have secured a losing bonus point, and acquired 6 bonus point tries.
The game itself could be one of two halves, Chinnor have scored a significant majority of their points in the first half, with a lot of those inside the first 20 minutes. Second half and they are more subdued and seem to be more vulnerable in the last 20.
It could be a colourful game with the two sides accruing 16 cards between them, with Albion being slightly 'ahead' in the disciplinary stakes.
Albion meanwhile, will be looking for a win to recover from the setback of a fortnight ago. If they can survive the onslaught of the initial period and keep their discipline, this could lift them back above Leeds and Bishops Stortford.
Forecast - Close, and will be 'won' in the first half, but Chinnor to edge it. Try & Losing bonus points for Albion.
