Bishops Stortford

January 2 2022
Festivities over and hopefully, Albion will be able to welcome in the New Year with a visit to Brickfields by Bishop's Stortford.
Stortford are currently three points and a couple of places above Albion, having played one additional game to date, making this another game where Albion can pick up a few points, particularly after the disappointment at Taunton.
Both sides have very similar results over their respective previous five games winning 2 and losing 3. Although, points have been more prolific in the Albion games.
Try-wise, Stortford's scoring has been split equally between the forwards and the backs, with the majarity of the Forwards' tries coming from the Front row with none from the No 8, suggesting that the lineout it the main source of those tries. With regards to the back line a many have come from the wingers, with most of the remainder scored by the centres. Looks like they like to spread it out wide.
Stortford appear to be slightly more vulnerable in the first 20 minutes of the game, but are also more of a threat. This period could ultimately define the result. Would it be preferred to take points whenever opportunity provides rather than going for tries? Discipline again could be key but with Albion having the worst record in the league with 14 cards, and Stortford on 13 now would be a good time to behave.
Player to watch - Winger Chris Smith with 7 tries this season -Note also Dan Powell formerly of Albion amongst their ranks.
Forecast - home advantage will be a big boost for Albion, so Home win with a Bonus Point for Albion and a losing point to Bishop's Stotford.
Weather - Wet and windy.
