Round 9 - Albion v Chinnor

A difficult fixture for Albion this weekend for what is clearly the game of the week. This will be a defining game of the season for Albion as they take on a much stronger side than they have faced so far.

Although equal on points, Chinnor have played a mix of teams in the league, including Rams and Park (both of which they lost) whilst Albion have played all the teams from 7th to 14th. To date, Chinnor have scored 6 more tries and conceded 6 less than Albion. They are also top scorers in the league and conceded the fewest points.

On the plus side for Albion, they have won on their last 3 visits to the Oxfordshire club despite their difficulties in securing away wins.

Chinnor are a little prone to conceding yellow cards averaging one a game which may trouble referee Ben Rayner.

It seems that Chinnor can call on a very strong bench, with nearly two-thirds of their points coming in the second half of their fixtures. The back line can claim a similar proportion of their tries and it would bode Albion well to keep the ball away from them.

Weather: Dry but sunshine in earlier in the day will give way to sunny intervals by the afternoon. Little wind to speak of but it will feel chilly.

Prediction: A loss for Albion, potentially with nothing to show for their efforts.

17-22 Great result for albion and a no point loss for Rams sends them to the top of the league

Looking Good - hopefully, you'll be back in the Champs next season and we'll have our Local Derby back.

Pirates & Albion always a good day out amongst friends (Sm48) (Sm48) (Sm48)

Will there be promotion end of this season?

What a result didn't see that coming.
As regards promotion I don't think we can afford it, better to stay in this league I think.

Lobina,
Disagree. If we can get promoted we should.
However, we should do it in a sustainable way (i.e. don't spend stupidly).
If we can get to 3,000+ crowds it would be good for Albion.
Plus, younger players would love "Championship" on their CV.
Let's go for it 😳
