Round 26: Albion v Rosslyn Park
By Dark Prophet
April 22 2024
The season will draw to a close with the visit of Rosslyn Park to Brickfields.
Lying in third place they are just above Albion in the table they are too far ahead for Albion to pinch the spot. Meanwhile Albion could be overtaken by Birmingham Moseley, but they have a tough game against Rams to gain at least one point and probably two to get past Albion.
The opening fixture of the season saw Albion narrowly fall short of an away win at Rosslyn Park in a high scoring where they went down 39-36.
We can expect Park to spread the ball wide to utilise a very prolific back line who have scored over two-thirds of their 113 tries, with the winger Charlie Walker bagging 19. whilst his compatriot, Benjamin Marfo, on the other wing has 13.
Albion will be drawing heavily on the Home support for one last hurrah to finish the season on a high. Recent form has been improved after the mid season slump, and it is hoped that last week's disaster against an out of form Sedgley was an abberation.
Matthew Sharp is the referee for the day, and he tops the league in issuing yellow cards. Bad behaviour will be punished.
Weather - overcast, quite cool. Might rain a little after the match which might put a dampener on the Party on the Pitch.
Forecast - a tight game with Albion edging it. Would be great to finish the season with a last minute drop goal.
Other games of note: Cinderford v Bishop's Stortford. With Cinderford heading for Level 4 next season, BP will be looking to keep their Level 3 status, which will condemn Leicester and Taunton.

Next season NL1 says goodbye to Chinnor, Taunton and Cinderford and says welcome to Rotherham, Esher and Ding's Crusaders.
