Connacht and Bank of Ireland have renewed their partnership with a two-year main sponsorship extension. Connacht CEO Gerry Kelly said: "It is a great boost for Connacht Rugby and we are delighted that Bank of Ireland will be on board for the next two years.

He continued saying, "We have built up a strong relationship over the years and we are very much looking forward to continuing that for the next two seasons". Donal Flynn, Bank of Ireland Regional Manager Westsaid: "We have enjoyed a very good relationship with Connacht Rugby over the years and have been proud to be part of their success story," he said. From the supporters perspective, it will seem unusual that a sponsor who seemingly pull out of the running for the coming season, has now come back on board. Last seasons jerseys were sold off at cheap prices in Eleverys and at the branch, making it seem almost certain that a different sponsor had been procured. It is possible that efforts to find another sponsor failed and that BOI were asked to come back on board. If you have any thoughts on the matter, please post them in the main forum.
