Flintoff sets sights on 2nd test

Andrew Flintoff has shed light on his ankle injury by declaring that it is likely to be a concern for the remainder of his career. But he has delighted fans by saying he aims to captain the side in the second test.

The Lancashire all-rounder returned on Sunday playing for his county and looked in good shape considering he's been out with an injury. The England captain spoke about the intense training he has done with his coach and as a result he lost a stone in weight.

"The thing is now I've got to be really disciplined. I have to look after it and effectively I will have to keep doing rehabilitation on it for the rest of my career," he spoke.

Flintoff has recently been named England captain for the Ashes series and he is determined to get back as soon as possible.

"Over the next two weeks I'll be able to see where I am when I've got some overs under my belt.

"Fingers crossed I'll get through the game at Canterbury and be able to come back for the Old Trafford Test," he added.

While Strauss takes over as captain during the Pakistan series, Flintoff hopes he will be back playing for England in the 2nd test match and will take over as captain.

Flintoff will be assessed again this week and hopefully the specialist will see positive signs. Flintoff is set to take part in training sessions with his England team mates this week.
