Gough back in squad for Champions tropy

Darren Gough has suprisingly been called up to the 30 man England squad for the ICC champions trophy in October. The squad also see's some new additions in Ravi Bopara, Stuart Broad, Mal Loye, Graham Onions and Michael Yardy.

Injured players such as Andrew Flintoff, James Anderson and Ashley Giles have all been named. But David Graveney has left out Englands superstar spinner Monty Panesar;

He said: "I'll probably ring him to explain that the door is not completely shut but for him the best thing is if he concentrates on Test cricket."

This trophy is seen as the next biggest one day tournament to the World cup and England will cut the squad down to 14 in September before the start.

Darren Gough was a suprise addition and Graveney explained why he had picked the Yorkshire man;

"Darren Gough has been a regular member of the Essex side this season and worked hard to overcome the knee injury which limited his county appearances last summer.

"He is performing well for Essex and I am sure he will be seeking to further impress the selectors over the next few weeks as will all the other pace bowlers in our 30."

England face a tough group with Australia and India but they should feel a little confident after reaching the final last time around.
