It is official, England have now won the fourth test and have won the series 3-0. The official statement had said that there would be no play on the fifth day, which means the match, has been forfeited and was awarded to England.
A joint statement was issued from the ECB and PCB, it read, "After lengthy negotiations which resulted in agreement between the teams, the match referee and both the ECB and PCB to resume the fourth Test tomorrow, it was concluded that with regret there will be no play on the fifth day.
"The fourth Test has therefore been forfeited with the match being awarded to England.
"In accordance with the laws of cricket, it was noted that the umpires had correctly deemed that Pakistan had forfeited the match and awarded the test to England."
It concludes that England have won the test and the series 3-0, but I’m sure this isn’t the way England would have wanted to win.
