Vaughan hopeful of playing in 3 weeks

England's injury struck captain Michael Vaughan could be on his way back into action within 3 weeks according to the Yorshire man. Vaughan leaves for Australia a week on Saturday and is waiting on the selctors to select him for action as soon as he completes his rehabilitation.

The ashes winning captain has been out injured since November when he was sent home from the Pakistan tour to have surgery on his knee.

"I leave for Australia a week on Saturday and I'm going purely to concentrate on rehabilitation.

"Whether it takes two games, five games or a month to be match fit is up to the selectors," he said.

If this is true then Vaughan could be in action for the third test, which begins in Perth on 14 December.

As many England fans will know Vaughan was a key player for England last time in Australia. He set the world a light with his brilliant stroke play while scoring 3 centuries in the 4-1 series loss.

Vaughan will start his rehabilitation when he joins the England academy and some club games might be organised to help him.
