England in Trouble?

The unstoppable Shane Warne took 4 wickets last night in the 4th day at Brisbane. Collingwood (96) and Pieterson (92) tried to salvage all they could for England but unfortunately only Pieterson may be able to get his century as Collingwood got stumped out.

A weird decision by Ponting not to enforce the follow on yesterday got everyone thinking. And yesterday morning Ponting made some bizarre bowling changes, however that didn’t stop Warner getting 4 wickets leaving England to ponder.

As soon as Langer got his century, Ponting declared at 202-1 although he seemed to be having a back problem. As his team went out to Field without him while he was getting treatment, England seemed to slow down the batting pace and slowly but surely get the runs they need. Glenn McGrath had a problem with his heel consequently needing treatment.

Andrew Strauss never learns. His stupidity cost him, as he hooked a shot and got out for just 11. Not his best and I hope he’s the type that learns from his mistakes as this is the second time this series he has got out by a stupid shot. Substitute fielder Ryan Broad caught at fine leg.

Ian Bell, the man who made his 50, the highest score in the first Innings for England misread a slider by Warner as umpire Steve Bucknor raised his finger, for LBW. Ian Bell went for a duck!

Cook and Collingwood seemed to work well together as they both tried to do their best for England, yet Cook (43) couldn’t’ seem to get past Warne as Mike Hussey caught him at fine leg, with a fine ball for Warner.

Pieterson and Collingwood gave the England Barmy Army something to cheer about, although with the Barmy Army being split around the stadium, they definitely needed cheering up.

However, when Collingwood went four short of his century and got stumped out, Flintoff didn’t seem to help as was out for just 16.

Pieterson (92) and Jones (12) will be leading England tonight, as the 5th and final day comes to a close. Will Ponting’s decision not to enforce the follow on, cost them? Find out tonight at 12midnight, as England take on Australia at Brisbane, for the final day.
