Trescothick makes an amazing comeback

Trescothick hit a fantastic 154 in Somerset's game against Northamptonshire in what seemed a warm up game as Vaughan and Harmsion are definately ruled out for the next England game and flintoff explains why he would be honoured to lead England again.

With 26 fours under his belt and 154 runs Marcus Trescothick almost seemed as if he hadn't been away as it was his final game for Somerset
before he starts for England next week against Sri Lanka. It seems as if his batting is still like it used to be, on form, and that the virus
he had hadn't affected him in anyway. However now with the confirmation that Harmison and Vaughan are to miss the next test things aren't looking
so good. David Graveney, Chairman of selectors announced that anyone that will not play in at least one four day championship game would not be
considered.

Who will be involved in the test against Sri Lanka then? All names of squad members will be revealed just four days before the match begins.

Flintoff revealed that they have to wait and see what the injury list is like. He would be honoured if he did get the opportunity to be captain
at Lords.

He said " I enjoy being involved in the game and it's been quite an easy side to captain - captaining your country can't be a burden." He later
added it's something he enjoys not fears.

Alistair Cook is hoping for a place in the line up although James Anderson has now been ruled out for two months with a back injury meaning he
will miss the Sri Lanka series altogether.
