With a 49th minute goal from Chris McPhee, Brighton progress to the second round of the league cup, despite Nathan Jones's 45th minute sending off.

Brighton progressed to the second round of the League Cup last night with a 49th minute goal from Chris McPhee, assisted by Cullip and Mayo.

McPhee's goal mean the Albion go on unimpeded to the second round of the League Cup, although admittedly, promotion is probably more important to be chasing than cup glory.
