Summer Transfers?

Some of you may be wondering what players the club is buying, signing, releasing or selling over the summer breake, and whats going on contract wise

Well, not a lot. No-ones been signed. McGhee told the club site he's not "Panic Buying", although at this stage, any players left will be only of the quality you buy in a panic with a few days before the first game. Nearly all players were still in contract (and the protected stage at that), the only major player who was out of contract was Butters, and he's signed again anyway.

Not only has no-one been bought, no frees have been accepted. And nobodies been released.

With Leon Knight banned, Chris McPhee doubtful due to injury, etc, for the first few games of the season, the club seems to be taking an incredible risk, as it seems the team that will play the opening match against Reading will be a weakened version of the squad taken to the Millenium back in May.

The next six weeks will be crucial to the clubs chances in the Championship anyway, wheter McGhee makes a mad signing run or not.
