We Need a Manager!!

Just some more of my speculationd about the manager and all that kind of stuff. Sort of jokey, sort of serious. Also a bit about the new kit.

Positions Vacant:

Brighton region:

Required, a manager for a small to medium sized Division One soccer club. Would suit someone who can keep a job for more than eight months, and can cope with managing one of the best young players in the division. Apply to Dick Knight, BHAFC, BN100N.

Hopefully not the kind of ad needed, but we do seriously need a manager. With the first pre-seasons only shortly away, we will have to go in without any manager. That is not to say the Bob Booker is not a competent manager. He managed the club during the gap between Micky Adams and Peter Taylor, and the team won all of those matches. Also currently at the club and capable of managing the team are Dean Wilkins and Martin Hinselwood. Outside the club, and on all the lists of suggested managers are Steve Coppell and Graham Rix. However, many of the fans do not want these people as a manager.

The club chairman, Dick Knight has been abroad recently, destination unknown, and two other figures who are also ‘abroad’ are former Huddersfield manager Lou Macari, and current Arsenal player Tony Adams. Macari has a lot of managerial experience, and Adams would make a useful addition to the club as a player-manager.

Whoever becomes the manager, the club will be going into this season full of expectations. Not needing to compete in he LDV Vans Trophy or stages 1 and 2 of the FA Cup, the club will have less matches to compete in then last year, and can hopefully concentrate on attaining and maintaining a very good league position. However, due to the small size of the Withdean and the distance of the construction of Falmer, it is probably not a good idea for the club to consider promotion to the Premier League.

Apparently a new kit is almost ready to go on sale. Some apparent pictures of it look quite good, but may be fake.
