The Seagulls had a bit of a shock yesterday when Worthing, manged by former Albion boos Barry Lloyd, took an early lead in the clubs first pre-season friendly. However, the Seagulls recovered just 4 minutes before half time with a goal by Nathan Jones.

Manager Hinshelwood, in his first game in charge, fielded an entirely different squad for the 2nd half. Shortly after half-time, Robbie Pethick brought the Seagulls in front with a goal that went in off the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Pethick scored again. To finalise proceedings, Pitcher assisted David Lee to a late goal.

As expected, neither the first or second half teams contained Bobby Zamora, who is still recovering from the injury picked up in an England U-21 match versus Switzerland.

While Worthing may not be the toughest of opponents, this match proves that Hinshelwood can pick a suitable side for a match, and it hopefully the result bodes well for the upcoming season.
