We take a look at some of the Football Leagues hottest propects who the Gills could sign on loan. There are also one or two established players who Gills could possibly sign on loan including the likes of Rory Fallon and Tommy Black.

We have searched the whole of the football league to find possible signings and here are the results. We have looked for the cheapest most affordable but yet with bags of quality. Remember though as the transfer window is closed, these are all possible loan signings.

STRIKER - Rory Fallon: The Swansea man has started everygame at the Liberty Stadium but is set to be dropped from the side after some unimpressive performances and the Swans want to send him out on loan. He had been rumoured to be sent to a League Two club but the former Swindon man could be on his way to Priestfield.

Fallon signed for Swansea from Swindon last season for £300,000 scoring five goals in fifteen starts and five substitute appearances. He was more successful though at Swindon where he scored twelve goals in twenty-five appearances - all of those appearances were starts.

Despite Fallon seeming to fit the bill perfectly, the one problem will be the relationship between Mr. Scaly and the Swansea chairman. They had a public row over the saga of Brent Sancho's loan signing which fell through and angered Scally a great deal which led to a public dispute between the two chairman.

It was rumoured that the chairman's relationship was the reason for Akinfenwa's proposed move to Priestfield being rejected. Lets hope though that Jepson can get his man should the rumour be true as Fallon could solve Jepson's striking woe's.

STRIKER - Craig Fagan: Fagan has also fallen out of favour after Hull signing top quality striker like Nicky Forster and Michael Bridges. Fagan scored five goals in the Championship last season but was more successful in League One with Colchester in the 2004/2005 season when he found the net fourteen times in all competitions. Despite starting five games this season it seems unlikely that he shall be first choice after the high profile signings of Michael Bridges and Nicky Forster. It would mean he is fourth choice striker and it is likely that he would want first team football and Hull would like him to get games. He is a natural goal scorer and would do pretty well with Gills.

STRIKER - Chris Brown: The Sunderland man has made two appearances from Sunderland this season but after new manager Roy Keane signings he has became the sixth choice striker for the Black Cats. He made twelve Premiership appearances for Sunderland last year and found the net once. Brown would be a very good signing but I doubt he would go from a fringe Premiership player to a League 1 player. But if nobody else makes a move for the promising youngster, we may just strike lucky.

STRIKER - David McGoldrick: The 19 year old Southampton man scored an a amazing 44 goals in the Southampton reserves last season and when he earned his senior debut he impressed after coming on as a sub in the Carling Cup last season. He then returned to Notts County where the Saints found him, on loan. He didn’t find the net but did impress once again. Southampton would be keen to send him out on loan once again but it all depends whether he can cut it in League One. But 44 goals in one reserve season speak for it self.

MIDFIELDER - Tommy Black: A fans favourite at Gillingham already, Tommy lifted the Gills from relegation contenders to possible play-off contenders after a six game winning run mainly thanks to Tommy’s five goals for the club and impressive performances. Most Gills fans wanted Tommy to sign on permanently during the summer but that didn’t happen and with Tommy yet to make a Championship appearance for Crystal Palace, he may well return to Priestfield on loan. He hasn’t even made the bench for a Championship game yet after ex Gillingham manager Peter Taylor signing lots of midfielders. Tommy and Jarvis formed a fantastic partnership towards the end of last season and with Jarvis still at Priestfield, it would be a partnership for all defences to beware of.

STRIKER - Charlie Sheringham: Son of Teddy, Charlie is a young member of the Palace squad and would be a good move for all parties concerned for Charlie to gain experience. Joined following a successful trial Charlie played most of his football for the Under 18’s squad and the reserves, Palace would be hoping to send him out on loan to gain valuable experience.

STRIKER - Hogan Ephraim: The young Hammer made his senior West Ham debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the Carling Cup and now plays most of his football in the reserves. But it would be a fantastic move for Hogan to gain first team football at Priestfield. Hogan scored twice in three games for the England Under 17’s during the UEFA European Championships. He has now established himself as an Under 17 regular.

STRIKER - Sone Aluko: Sone has been with Birmingham since the age eight years of age and has been regarded as one of the highest prospects of Birmingham FC. Sone has bags of pace and skill and not only can Aluko play upfront, the versatile striker can play in midfield.
