Scally: Stop whinging

Scally has hit out at fans who protested against Scally last friday and those who plan more protests. Speaking to this mornings 'Kent on Sunday', Scally told the fans to stop whinging and that Gillingham's days of gambling on success are over.

The Gills chairman Paul Scally denied any suggestions that he was going to quit his post at Gillingham, and that there was no chance the Gills were going to go into adiministration.

Scally was subject of abuse from Gillingham fans at Gillinghams last home game to Scunthorpe, and there were some angry fans at Saturdays away win against Doncaster.

Speaking to the KoS Scally said, " We spent money to try and acheive seccess and we enjoyed that for a while, but now we have to cut our rcloth accordingly. We can't keep taking gambles, and we cannot spend money that we do not have anymore. We have to protect the future of this club."

Speaking about the fans who were plotting more protests against Scally, the Gills chairman said, " They would do better to throw their computers away and starting supporting the club instead. There is no question of me going anywhere, as tempting as it is sometimes. If I did walk away now this club would collapse. The bank is backing me, and has been for the last two years, I am doing everything possible to turn this back into a profitable business. But everyone is going to have to be patient."

Scally then went on to make his favourite comment, " I have always said this club has no future unless it can move to a new ground"

With the Gills in serious amounts of debt believed to be around £12,000,000, Scally will have to do a lot to have any hope of winning the Gills fans back.
