Flynn has sympathy for Scally

Gillingham team captain Mike Flynn has spoke of his sympathy for club chairman Paul Scally. Scally has been subject of abuse by the Gills fans since the meeting with Scunthorpe and Flynn spoke of his views to BBC Radio Kent....

Mike Flynn has been one of Gillingham's best players so far this season, finding the net twice. The Gills skipper believes that it must be hard for the Gills chairman considering the funds available.

Speaking to BBC Radio Kent, the Gills skiper said, "The chairman has had a bit of stick but hopefully the win against Doncaster will take some of the pressure off.

"If there aren't any funds there is nothing that he can do because you can't take out of an empty pocket, so it's a little bit unfair on him."

"I'm sure that with a few positive results it will all be forgotten and the fans will get right behind him."

Gillingham play Millwall in their next fixture, with more anti-scally chants expected.
