Two new faces on the way?

Gillingham are on the verge of completing a loan deal and a permenent deal from clubs in the "Championship or above". Gillingham chairman Paul Scally has confirmed to the Kent on Sunday that he he hopes to complete the deals before the trip to Cheltenham next Saturday.

Speaking to the KoS, Scally said: " They are from Championship clubs or abve. If we are successful, one is likely to be a loan signing for the rest of the season, the other a permanent addition to the squad.

" We've had some positive responses (to Ronnie's January wishlist), but with agents involved it is often not that easy. Players may want to come here but if their agents do not then we have a problem."

Gillingham are still yet to recieve an offer for any of their players yet, despite strong transfer rumours that Matt Jarvis is on his way and a new rumour claiming that Mulligan was on his way as well. With Matt Jarvis being linked with more Premiership clbs this week, his agent Mark Curtis told the KoS:
"I'd imagine there's a lot of interest in him (Jarvis) but unless Gillingham say otherwise between now and the end of the month, the only time I know of definite interest will be in the summer."

Scally is still hopeful of keeping his star man aswell. Scally added:
"I hope he (Jarvis) stays here and I'm optimistic he will. I don't think he is ready to go on yet and would like to see him stay here and sign a new contract."

Leon Knight has been linked with Gillingham ever since he turned down a move to Gills for Championship football with Barnsley. But with Knight failing to score during his loan spell, Barnsley sent him back and Knight recently told the BBC how is being forced to train by himself at Swansea, having fallen out with manager Kenny Jackett - and it has been rumoured that the former Chelsea and Brighton forward it on Jepsons wishlist.
