Has Jarvis played his last game for Gillingham?

Will Gillingham fans ever see Matt Jarvis in that number 21 Gillingham shirt ever again? Jarvis has apparently been ruled out of the last few games through injury, but many are questioning whether this is the case.

Jarvis hasn't played for five games, and the last game he played in was in The Gills' three goals to one defeat by Scunthorpe. Jarvis scored The Gills' only goal on that day and has since not played with an apparent injury.

During the time he has been out "injured", Jarvis has been linked with a £1million move to championship outfit Leicester and turned down a £650,000 move to Nottingham Forest. But in Ronnie Jepson's pre-match press conference notes on tomorrows trip to Rotherham, it claims that both team captain Mike Flynn and Jarvis will have fitness tests on Friday morning and that only one of the duo has a chance of being included in the squad. But then in the clubs official match preview ahead of the trip to Millmoor, it includes Flynn in the squad but no Jarvis.

It could well be that Jarvis does have the supposed groin injury, or it could be that Jarvis' Gillingham career has ended prematurely.

Jarvis made his senior debut against Sunderland three years ago. During his Gillingham career Matty has found the net fifteen times, five of those coming this season. After impressing with same occasional senior appearances and impressive reserve and youth games, Jarvis was rewarded a senior contract - which he signed at th final home game of the season in May 2004. Matty scored his first ever senior goal in the one nil victory over Wolves during the 04-05 season. Last season Jarvis won 'Young Player of the Year' award and the 'Goal of the Season' award and has been Gillingham's star performer this season.
