Gills aim for key win at Priestfield on Monday

Gillingham will be aiming for a key victory over promotion chasing Bristol City on Monday at Priestfield Stadium. Gillingham conceeded a late winner at Millmoor on Saturday to be defeated leaving them just six points off the drop zone.

Gillingham go into the game following a disapointing defeat by Rotherham, having led two - one at half time. Goals from The Gills' Felix Bastians and Andrew Crofts gave The Gills the advantage. Bristol City on the other hand faught out a goaless draw with Swansea City.

Matt Jarvis is once again a doubt for The Gills' key home clash with Bristol City on Monday. Jarvis is struggling with groin injury ahead of the visit of City.
Romain Larrieu was injured in the warm up at Millmoor, and was replaced by Kelvin Jack who made his first appearence for The Gills since the fifth of December last year and the frenchman is rated doubtful for Mondays game. Gary Mulligan and Felix Bastians also face late fitness tests having both limped off injured against Rotherham.

Chris Weale (back) defender Jamie McAllister (groin) and midfielder Scott Murray (foot) are The Robins' only absentees for the trip to Kent.

"The players will be in on Sunday morning as we prepare for the game against Bristol City on Easter Monday. They are more or less at the top of the league and we'll want to show that we can be up there with them on the day.
"The pressure isn't off and we've got to try and win every game from now until the end of the season. We need a required amount of points and the sooner we get them the better. I want us to finish as high as we can - you can't short change the supporters. Everyone can see we need to improve in certain areas and we will have a look at it in the summer - but I'm not even thinking about that until we have enough points on the board."
