Two out one in at Priestfield

Both Romain Larrieu and Felix Bastians have been recalled by their parent clubs today. Simon Royce has been signed on an emergency loan deal to replace Larrieu between the sticks.

Plymouth Argyle recalled Larrieu so they could assess him in the final three games with Gillingham now Mathematically safe. Assistant manager Tim Breacker told the Plymouth Herald: "We wanted him to be part of the hte last three games.

"We want to have a good look at him, although that is no reflection on Luke McCormick who has been excellent."

Larrieu has been with Gillingham since January and during his time he has kept five clean sheets.

Felix Bastians has also returned to his parent club at Nottingham Forest. Bastians has made five appearances for The Gills scoring one spectacular goal against Rotherham and impressing many with his performances during his time. Bastians said: "It was always a dream of mine to play in England," he said, "because I like the atmosphere from the crowd and the style of play.

"I hope to forge a successful career over here in the months and years to come - and I enjoyed my time with Gillingham."

Gills boss Ronnie Jepson also enjoyed having Bastians at Priestfield. "I'd like to say how much I've appreciated having him here," he said.

"He conducted himself in the right manner and it was nice to have him on board."

Replacing Romain Larrieu between the sticks will be Queens Park Ranger's 35-year-old stopper Simon Royce. Royce has come in until the end of the season. The Football League were gave Gillingham special dispensation to sign the goalkeeper with injury to Kelvin Jack and manager Ronnie Jepson seeming reluctant to throw youngsters Chris Kiely or Richard Mannerings at the deep end.

Meanwhile Gillingham fans have been warned "as part of the club's safety certificate requirements there will be an evacuation exercise at the end of the game against Port Vale on Saturday. Would all supporters please follow the stewards' instructions.”
