GHBTM previews the Chiefs match at Butt's Park, where they'll be looking for a 5 point win.

Coventry v Exeter Chiefs

Just four matches remain this season and what a rollercoaster ride we have had so far. Few can have predicted the massive swings in emotion last month as we closed in on the top spot only to shoot ourselves in the foot at Moseley followed by two sudden departures. The Newbury win then gave us a brief visit to the top of ND1 but Leeds soon deposed us. Hopefully the pressure is on Leeds as Exeter are within such close range.

Coventry have had more than their own fair share of troubles this season with major financial worries early on and, more recently, many injuries and other issues taking their toll on players.

Coventry is a long established city and predates both Birmingham and Leicester. It is 9th in terms of population in England. The poor people of Coventry find it much harder to get away to the beach than us as it is the furthest city from the coastline in England. Famous Coventrians include the infamous Lady Godiva, Peeping Tom, Pete Waterman and various rugby related “celebrities” – Danny Grewcock and some chap called Neil Best!

Coventry’s ground, Butts Park Arena, is situated just off Junction 7 of the Coventry City Centre Ring Road. It was officially opened in December 2004 by Sir Clive Woodward and has a main stand big enough to accommodate 3000 so there should be no shortage of spaces for the travelling Chiefs contingent!

Coventry are sitting in 9th place and fighting for survival in ND1 – recent results have been variable, much to the annoyance of their supporters. The average gate this season has been about 1600 but the lowest gate this season was under 900.

IF Exeter turn up hungry for the win I would expect a five point result from this match but you just cannot tell these days…

Neil Best = Northampton flanker (google).

Is this a subliminal message, or do you know something we don't? Has he signed?
