An updated version of the squad so far with 9 new signings.
Exeter Chiefs
2009/10 Squad
2009/10 Squad
Here is the list of players who make up the Exeter Chiefs 2009/10 squad. Looking back to the first season at Sandy Park we still have 16 players who were in the 2007/08 squad of about 40, with only 6 players leaving at season's end. 2008/09 saw the mass expansion of the squad to around the 50 mark. This season sees a mass exodus with 18 players leaving and 10 players joining. I've taken the names from those still shown on the 'Offy Site' plus the new signings announced.

Average age of squad is just over 24 years.
That is young (ish) but also with a good blend of experience.
Looks good for the coming season I think.

I cannot let that pass I calculate the average age as 26.2 if those ages in brackets are correct. I guess it might come down a bit with unnamed academy players.

good squad, but would like to see just one more heavyweight centre to get the ball over the gainline to give our talented back row something to work with.
something in the fats mould would be good, but with 15 less years on the clock.

Agree with you guys it certainly looks a good squad..and I've been saying for a while that I'd like to see us sign a quality centre and I honestly believe we will do.
Does anyone have any ideas as to the status/fitness of Matt Cornwell as I've hardly heard anything of him in quite a while?

Maths was never a strong point.
Having recalculated though I now make the average age 25.94, but I could still be wrong and probably am.

But if you are wrong you are wrong to an accuracy of two decimal places! IMPRESSIVE!

Hi guys,
Looks like its taking shape nicely, have to agree though our centres were ravaged last year that is how we ended up signing Paul Mac because of the injuries we had sustained. With Wardy set for a spell out I would like to see a centre signed. I gues otherwise we will be relying on the Academy to fill the gaps and we need some strength in that area. Lets hope Rob has one more quality signing up his sleeve before the season starts.

Looks like one of the activities on the first day of pre-season was to get photo's to update the Players part of the offical site
spotting the newcomers is easy as they have the grey training shirts on
