Chiefs in the spotlight: 1

Tribe Name/Name: Stressed Bill

Age: In my 30's unfortunately

Profile: I live in east devon, married and work full time

Why do you support rugby? I support rugby as it's honest and real sport, and one that my mates enjoy and the comaraderie that goes with it.

What’s your experience of playing the game?  I only played rugby as a youngster before switching to football, :-( i played on the wing as i was fast in those days for cleve rfc

What is your best memory as a player? A long time ago but remember playing under the floodlights against a visiting team with what seemed like probably hundreds of people watching!!!

What players did you/do you admire? I think budgie is quality the crowd love him, paul mckenzie is quality, further afield i love alun wyn jones passion

What’s your best memory as a spectator? Chiefs v Nottingham nov 2008, bonus point try right in front of us on tickets won on gemini or heart or what it's called this week!

Why do you support Exeter Chiefs and how long have you been following them?  I've been supporting the chiefs for about 2 years but really got into it properly last season

What led you to being a Chiefs supporter? Was in a pub and someone I knew said do you want to go to the rugby, I was new to the area and wanted to get into the rugby, took him up on the offer and never looked back.

What has pleased you most about the way the club’s developed over the last few years? I don't feel I can comment too much as I'm newish to the chiefs but whenever i speak to my friends out of the area about the chiefs they always say 'chiefs, nice stadium, good side, big crowds, good set up so we need to keep spreading the word and keep the club growing

How many live games do you see a season?  About 10 last season but hope to go to lots more this season

Do you go to any away games?  I haven't been to an away game yet but am definitely going to bristol and some more away games and am looking forward to seeing the atmosphere amongst the tribe and meeting new tribe members

What’s your particular matchday routine? a bit of a lie in with the papers, a long run(helps me feel better about the beer)a big brunch to set me up, meet my mate on the bus, get to the undercroft for about 1.45 for a couple of beers and get ready for the game

How do you think the coverage of the Chiefs and rugby union compare with other sports in the region?  Football seems to fare better in the express and echo, but chiefs get good coverage on local news, will be interesting how the new league changes things

What’s your favourite thing about rugby? respect, players playing for the love of the game, the comararderie amongst the fans

What’s your least favourite? kicking the ball backwards and forwards( will this change with new laws?)

Do you watch any other sports? i used to enjoy footie but it's just become a rich boys plaything, please don't let money become too important in rugby, its just got to be about rugby

Do you watch rugby on TV. If so is it club games, internationals or both?
i watch internationals, edf and magners as only have freeview

Do you watch on terrestrial, satellite or cable and how does the coverage compare? i think satelite coverage is better with the pick of the games, ie heineken etc

How long do you think it will be before we see the Chiefs in the Guinness Premiership and what do they need to do to achieve it?  I think we will be promoted this season, we are doing everything right, signing the right players with what seems good continuity

Any general comments about the club or the game? i think the chiefs are an awesome club, the crowds are going up with a positive future, i understand the club needs to make good commercial profit to give us a good financial base but i hope the the club doesn't price the average man out of the game as the prices do seem to be creeping up, i know season tickets are important but there are a lot of floating supportes and they could be the season ticket holders of the future.

If you'd like to put yourself in the spotlight either PM or email Moorsman.
