Just a few words about Saturday's match, which sees Gloucester at Sandy Park for Exeter Chiefs first ever Premiership match.
Match Preview
Exeter Chiefs v Gloucester Rugby
Exeter Chiefs v Gloucester Rugby
Just a few words as I can't think clearly with the building excitement of Saturdays 1st ever Premiership game at Sandy Park.....
We're finally here and the Chiefs open their maiden Premiership campaign against Gloucester who's Premiership record reads:
| Played | Won | Lost | Drawn |
| 294 | 164 | 121 | 9 |
The last 2 seasons have seen the Cherry & White's end the 'league' in mid table and they will be looking to return to the 1st place they managed the 2 previous seasons (although not crowned Champions as they stumbled during the play-offs). The Gloucester side is peppered with players who have International experience and will bring a sizeable number of supporters to Sandy Park for what is strangely being touted as a 'local' derby.
With Odds to win the Prem of 16/1 for Glaws and 500/1 for Exe I guess the majority of Premiership watchers will be predicting an away win and that may well be the case. However Rob & Co. have been putting the squad through their paces during pre-season with most players being heavier and quicker as a result. Even the lightning quick Matt Jess has improved his speed records!
Here's Rob Baxter's take on the pre-season games v Cardiff Blues and Llanelli Scarlets and how he views Saturdays game.

The Hard Work Starts Now
Whilst there are tickets left it's going to be close to a sell-out Sandy Park, The Tribe have been warming up their vocal support during the pre-season games and the Tomohawk Chop has been well rehearsed. Chiefs supporters are ready for their first taste of Premiership Rugby and cannot wait for 3pm on Saturday 4th September to come.
Bring it on - Come on You Chiefs!!!
