A last minute preview for Dragons v Chiefs
COWBOYS V INJUNS
Sunday 18th December 2011, 5.45pm, I’ll be standing in eager anticipation with all the other members of the travelling tribe in Hazell Terrace at Rodney Parade for the away leg of the double header against the Newport Gwent Dragons. After the brilliant victory last weekend at Sandy Park, can the Chiefs do the double over the Dragons, on their welsh turf and remain top of Pool D of the Amlin Challenge Cup. This pool is particularly tight with only 1 point separating the top 3, and with Perpignan expected to win against Prato this weekend, this is going to be a must win match for both teams to stay in contention. The constant rain we have been having this week will make the ground at Rodney Parade very soggy indeed underfoot, so similar to last week, a fast action rugby match this will not be.
The Dragons will be smarting from being slayed by the Chiefs last weekend, are definitely rattled and will want revenge. In fact the Dragons are calling out to their fans to turn out in force dressed as cowboys, and are offering free drinks to the first 200 fans through the turnstiles dressed as cowboys. So there will not only be a battle on the pitch, but also in the terraces. The Newport fans are very vocal, and like us very passionate about their rugby, and the travelling tribe are going to have to be in full voice to win the battle of the terraces. So let battle of Little Big Horn commence!
