Play-off to Play-off in 2 seasons?

What a final home game we have in prospect!  Saints come to Sandy Park and it's 4th v 5th in a game that could be decisive in sorting out the final Play-off place.

With the Premiership table looking like this, what a game we have in prospect at Sandy Park this Sunday.  Although there is still one round to go following the match the final play-off place could be settled on the day.  If and it's a mighty big if, Chiefs can win and deny our Saintly friends a losing bonus point then we will have gone from the Championship play-offs to the Premiership play-offs in just 2 seasons!  Just the thought that we are in this position makes me feel giddy so goodness knows how I'll feel if it happens. 

However the guys have a big task on their hands because we know how dangerous Saints can be if they get their tails up.  On the other hand we can be pretty dangerous ourselves when we attack the game as we have in recent games.  Rob Baxter was really pleased with the spirit and desire shown in last weeks defeat of Worcester but there was still room for improvement.  The Chiefs will need to attack the game from the off with the same zeal they finished both the Glaws and Wuss away games to stop Saints dictating the game as they did at Franklin's Gardens.  Having said that Chiefs are approaching the run in with a rich vein of form with just the one AP defeat in 2012.

Of course there's always lady luck to contend with but it's said the harder you work the luckier you seem to get and no team works harder than our Chiefs.  Some will say we've been fortunate in meeting strong sides whilst their players were away on World Cup or Six Nations duty and to be fair they have a point.  But as the old adage has it "you can only play what's in front of you" and you can see the confidence this season has given to the Chiefs players. 

I can't wait for Sunday and I hope we continue our winning ways.  If we can manage this and prevent the LBP it will be another incredible result of an already outstanding season.  To make a Heineken Cup place for next season is considerably ahead of plan but I'm sure Rob & Co would like to rip the plans up by getting to the Prem play-offs early too.
