The final Exeter Chiefs game for season 2012/13 is no dead rubber as Chiefs look to beat Gloucester and take a Heineken Cup spot whilst matching last season's fifth place.

And so the end is near.....

As a certain song has it and we know the Chiefs will do it their way.

The final Exeter Chiefs game for season 2012/13 is no dead rubber as Chiefs look to beat Gloucester and take a Heineken Cup spot whilst matching last season's fifth place.  Whatever happens this has been another fine season for the Chiefs.  Many pundits and opposition fans suggested the Heineken Cup would severely dent our league campaign but far from it the Chiefs look fit and strong at season's end.  The Heineken group of death has left all those associated with the Chiefs wanting more and this Saturday will hopefully nail it.  Not only that but if a few marginal results had gone our way the top four would have been in reach again, maybe next season?

So it's the last match and what a great way to finish the season with a visit from the Cherry and Whites.  The away fixture was a pretty close fought thing wiith Glaws just shading it 18-16.  However we're at Fortress Sandy Park not Castle Grim and we have a very good home record.  No doubt the Cherry and Whites will travel in good numbers and we know how much noise they can make so The Tribe will have to be in good voice.  I'm sure the Tomahawk Chop will ring out loud and proud for what could be a very exciting game.

The weather forcast doesn't look too bad and the pitch will be firm which will probably suit both sets of backs.  Chiefs are on a good run of form with just one defeat, 9-12 to Leicester, in their last six games and only conceding 34 points whilst scoring 83 in the last three home games.  The players will be really keen to finish on a high and start what could be very long end of season party.  I can't say I'm not nervous about this one but the Chiefs can win this one in style and I think they will.

Agree with all above, and v v excited for this game. Hopefully Glaws will come with an attitude of nothing to play for (unlikely) and we can leapfrog them into 5th, with comfortable European qualification - can't wait!
