West Country Cup - take 2

Chiefs face Bath at Sandy Park on Saturday for their second game in the new West Country Challenge Cup.  It seems a very strange pre-season with games being shoe horned into World Cup fixtures.  At least it's given us a chance to see a lot of our new signings and Academy players.  It also gives Rob Baxter and the coaches time to try out a few things and nail down the starting 15 for the Prem when it finally starts.  Rob Baxter has still not announced who will captain the Chiefs this season but is likely to do so following Saturdays game.  Saturday sees a very welcome return for Jack Yeandle who must be on Rob's shortlist as he captained the side so well at the beginning of last season.

Rob will be looking for the forwards to produce the sort of platform they did in the first half v Glaws and provide more opportunities as they did for the try machine Thomas The Tank Waldrom.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes but there's a small game I need to watch before that as the Rugby World Cup kicks off with England v Fiji.  I'll be busy at Sandy Park from Monday playing my part as a member of The Pack in putting on the World Cup games.  I will also be trying to see a few games at the Fanzone in Northernhay gardens.  Exciting times!
