everything comes to he who waits...

The old saying has it that "everything comes to he who waits".  Well I waited for what seemed an awfully long time for the Chiefs to get into gear and deliver the expected victory over Falcons.

The old saying has it that "everything comes to he who waits".  Well I waited for what seemed an awfully long time for the Chiefs to get into gear and deliver the expected victory over Falcons.  On what was a sunny Saturday with little wind and a firm playing surface Chiefs supporters were looking forward to the Chiefs taking last weeks second half form and really attacking Falcons.  As it turned out there was a lot of endeavour spoiled by sloppy work that played into the hands of Falcons who offered little in the way of attacking rugby.  This is not surprising given they are still looking over their shoulders at a possible relegation dogfight with London Irish.  However the on pitch flatness really seemed to dampen the crowd who were curiously quiet for large periods of the match.  Even the Library was quiet with supporters looking on rather than getting involved as they usually do in roaring the team on.  Ok there was a smaller crowd and even what wind there was appeared to blow the sound from the drummers back into the West stand.

Having said this there were a number of positives to come out of Saturday:

Steeno now has the club record for poitns scored.

Henry Slade showed that he is very much back up and running as he put in a solid display in both attack and defence.

Chiefs managed to take the full 5 points and in doing so close the gap on Sarries.

Next up we have Saints and they should present the sort of challenge that will need the Chiefs to be firing on all cylinders to overcome.
