Chiefs have started this season so much better than last and have only lost two games since the beginning, both with a losing bonus point.

However in terms of points in the bag it's not the best start to a Premiership season they have had. This came two seasons ago in season 15/16 when they had gained 29 points by this time of the season.

The big difference as I see it is in the confidence and belief now being shown by the club and players. This being epitomised by the wins in Europe and never say die attitude shown at Sale together with two 5 point wins in the Anglo-Welsh. The latter really demonstrates the strength in depth Chiefs have with Sam Hill, Ollie Devoto, Greg Holmes and Dave Ewers making appearances following injuries.
That's the first block of matches concluded and I'm looking forward to the start of the second block on Sunday when Quins visit Sandy Park.

In previous years we probably went under the radar a little bit and there was no expectancy and maybe not as much respect from the opposition?
This season we are defending champions and there is expectancy from everyone as well as the pressure that comes with it. We have a lot of respect from the opposition and I did wonder if the hunger to defend a title would be as much as it was to win it last season?
It is stronger if anything so undoubtedly our best start for me given the reasons stated above.
