Chiefs v Tigers to see in the New Year with Chiefs looking to maintain their lead at the top of the Prem
10 clear
10 points clear after 11 rounds

That headline makes good reading, particularly when seen against last years campaign! The Chiefs are a mighty different side from the one that couldn't buy a winning peformance at the beginning of last season. They are more confident and composed when things aren't going as they should and have continued to rack up the bonus points again. In fact they have now gone 31 games since they failed to pick up any match points in any game other than last season's semi and final. Indeed this season's home form is as good as it gets with 25 points from 5 games. Tigers have a reasonable away record with 13 from their 5 games although Sandy Park has been pretty rewarding for them since Chiefs joined the Prem having won 4 and lost 3. It's good to see that Johnny May wasn't given any further sanction for his 2 yellows as we all want to see Chiefs pitting themselves against the best possible opposition. I fully expect a win to end 2017 but whether Chiefs can keep the maximum home points tally is uncertain. However I'm sure Rob Baxter will have the players well prepared and with a sell out Sandy Park behind them who'd bet against it?

Footnote: Chris Bentley is leaving the Chiefs after the Tiger's game and I would like to wish him well in his new venture. Chris was always a pleasure to watch when playing for the Chiefs and has done a great job since joining the corporate side at Sandy Park. Here's a memory for you big guy...

Sarries and pests are now back to normal good form so its good to have a lead but will take some keeping.
Only down side this season has been only getting 76 points in 4 games in European cup

Lack of bonus points in Europe is definitely an error we need to improve on. Crucial in terms of qualification in tight groups.
We seem to have nailed that in the league, having struggled to get them in our early years, so no reason to think we won't do the same in Europe
