Top of the pile again........
Well done boys for finishing top of the league again. Okay it doesn't win you a trophy but an achievement in itself and shows consistency across the whole season. I'm not a great lover of the play offs and believe finishing top should be good enough to crown a team Champions.
The Premiership is of course not structured that way so we have the play offs which might seem as unfair by some but that's the way it is. At least we get a Home semi Final and as we are favourites to win it I'd like to think we have enough to do so. If we get beat then fair play to whoever beats us.
Wasps and Bath are both hitting their straps and of course write off Sale or Bristol at your peril.Its been a strange season and I for one am missing The Library, the Banter, a few beers and cheering on the boys but it looks like it will be empty stadiums for a bit longer yet!

Bath, in particular, has gained an unreasonable advantage by the introduction of Spencer and Hatley; Wasps have benefited from the months off for Blackett to inbed his methodology, Sale have gained Tuilagi and Sam Hill's insights into our playbook. Only Northampton, of the playoff contenders, seem to have gone backwards. None of the possible outcomes resulting from these occurrences seem to me to be fair or right.
REgarding player movements...I did think there was an argument for automatic contract extensions till the end of the current season, but whether the players involved would have found that acceptable I'm not sure.

Agree with the above and if a moving player had already bought, or agreed to rent, a property in their new location then expecting them to remain at their previous address would be difficult to enforce but perhaps they could have been forbidden to play for their new club during the remainder of the current season. Mid-season transfers are not something that rugby normally tolerates, for obvious reasons; hence, in part, the mess with Northampton and their props.
