Bit surprised at Whitt’s inclusion, he has been a great player for us but at Bath not sure he was ever mentioned. Things changed when Hendrickson appeared.
Really hope a Whitt’s performance of old to prove me wrong, with luck Tom won’t be brushed aside either, and pack can give us enough go forward for him to do his stuff in attack.
Capstick is the future as are the young props, but Innard should be playing, bit of rotation for the big game in Europe. After all we can make up a loss tomorrow, Europe is harder.

Was really looking forward to us putting our best match day squad out this season but somehow in 7 days we have now lost Moon Skinner and Williams from our pack which makes our front row bench very much weaker on paper. In the backs no Devoto or Cordero is baffling and Sam Maunder had a dreadful cameo from the bench and keeps his place.
Very strong side from Sarries could be a tough day up front late in the game. Fingers and everything thing else crossed for a win it will be a massive ask.

Teams pretty good would have liked to see innard on bench but jack always gives100% pity stu Townsend is not available as this is just the type of game he thrives on.

Very surprised at our team. Not sure why Whitts is starting - must be a coach's favourite - sorry. Harry Williams is probably due a rest but I think out front row will be in big trouble. Innard should be in the 23. Where is Cordero - Flats has forgotten how to pass and often gets turned over in blind alleys. Skinner not in the 23??? must be an injury I assume. I foresee a painful afternoon Chiefs 14 Sarries 32. I hope I am wrong - I often have been. Both teams will be very motivated in this match.

Like others I fear our lack of front row depth will cost us. Kicking game will be vital, both in fielding Sarries numerous box kicks, and our own kick chase. Still think it will be tight, but I'm afraid I think sarries will sneak it. Chiefs 14 Sarries 20. I'd love to be wrong though!! A win here would really set our season going!

Much pessimism on here, and well defended, however I'm going for a chiefs win, perhaps close, but nonetheless massive at the same time!
34-30
In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.

Quite a bit of sickness in camp which may explain those missing, I believe the original starting lineup was fully loaded !! ( Not covid sickness )

Gloom and heavy rain has descended on Plympton and with it our predictions
Mrs PC 20 - 27
PC 17 - 24
Really disappointed that we havn't managed to put out a stronger team for one of the most important games. Bench looks rather weak but here's to putting up a good show anyway.

Can't believe you lot! With home advantage, a pretty strong team and 'motivating factor' I have you as favourites. Goode is a tremendous player but we missed Farrell against Sale with his game management. Personally would prefer Loz at 10.
Here's hoping for a good game.

Hi Eric
Perhaps we are appearing pessimistic 9Realistic) but our home form is very poor and our front row and bench are not what we would like to see.
Anyway here's to a good game.

Well as I hoped Whitt’s played like Whitt’s of old, and flats took his chances, if we can keep a stable pack for a few matches we will start to move up. One match doesn’t make a season, but that second half by us means confidence will grow.
Well done all, only negative we got a bit of the red mist with the forwards at the line when there was a easyish run in for the backs.

Am I the only one who is still concerned about COVID or more recently Omicron as UK tonight begins to tighten travel rules?
The decision of Rob to suggest to Tony Rowe that the lads mix with the public in the bar straight off the pitch could be very costly.
Pre COVID this would be lauded from the roof tops.
Now?
Naive and almost in denial, as indeed are one or two in the squad.
Would be happy to be shouted down after we are able to put in two performances in Europe with fully fit squads and no COVID related absences.

Maybe it's a view that socialising with the supporters and sharing those moments together is what we have been missing as a club.
It is well known that the players could not properly celebrate the double win, certainly not with us the supporters so maybe the celebration of special moments together is what is needed to help us get back on track?
The players might feel they have been cocooned long enough?

Zyder head and Brent1, fully get the elation after a fantastic win but the bigger picture..........
Please remember this thread next week when we suffer from today’s disrespect of the times we are in.
I’ll be the first to eat as much humble pie as you can feed me if there is no consequence to today’s post match actions

I fully respect your opinion and thoughts Rowancroft. If we do suffer from this in the next couple of weeks then I am sure Rob and Co will have thought of the possible fall out and will have weighed up the options. It may have been player led?
The times we are in are likely to be the times of the future too so when or where do we draw the line as to it being acceptable?

How great to be wrong again; not only wrong about the score but Whitts who had a really excellent game. Although our pack was often under the cosh at scrum time we coped well with a much better breakdown effort and far fewer blind alley turnovers. Flats had his best game of the season.

I'm ever so slightly ashamed that I didn't keep the faith but well done to those who did. If we have an equal top score at the end of the season we might give precedence to anyone who predicted a win yesterday. Anyway here they are
20 Points: Bold Eagle;
18 Points: Mrs PC; Big Chief Little Chief; Clalan;
17 Points: DumnoniiNomad; Osmium;
16 Points: Mike the Shirt;
15 Points: The Stoke Canon; Fisher;
14 Points: PC; Ouch that Hurts;
13 Points: Chief Firewater; Cornwall Chief; Curry Chief;
12 Points: Thomas Hawk;
11 Points: Exeterfan; Ex58;
10 Points: ExTeddChief; Father Alice;
9 Points: Keithbar54;
8 Points: Last of the Beercans;
Montpellier next week. They comfortably beat Perpignan yesterday and it will be interesting to see Zack Mercer in action, probably with a point to prove!
