Leatherbarrow apparently scored two tries for Scotland U20s last week as a 6 and reported to be dynamic! Be interesting to see him get some time on the pitch.

If Foley allows the game to run - by no means a certainty! - I'm ever the optimist!
Chiefs 22 Glaws 10 (remember 04/09/2010!)
In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.

Strange that as Leatherbarrow scored 2 tries last week (just watched them on u20 6N website) he's been left out of the team this week - unless club gets preference?
Good to see Street back too.

I think club does get a chance to hold players at that level if they have a reason to, and with our injuries we fulfil that criteria.
If the boys can be mentally strong, they will be able to squeeze a home win, but depends how a loss when you played the better rugby will effect them. We do seem the struggle against Glos but heres hoping.
Chiefs 24-Cherries 20

It’s going to be another tough test. But another great opportunity for some of the young guys to gain invaluable experience.. such as Schickerling, Jenkins, Hodge etc. And the same for the likes of Innard and Capstick who grow with every game. Biggest positive for me is the return of Street. He has the potential to be a real quality tighthead and perhaps starting 3 next season.

Really pleased to see Billy K and Marcus S on the bench after so long out injured, but disappointed that Pearson gives way for the Don and that we have reverted to the two big bangers in the centre approach which has been shown not to work on numerous occasions.
Leatherbarrow I think plays 8 for the Uni BUCS team and looks a serious prospect.
Does this mean Schickerling is now number 1 TH?
Difficult to pick a result and score. I f we cant defend the rolling maul in our 22 we could be toast, but similarly if we defend well Glaws may not get there often. Chiefs by 2.

Quite excited by this team a blend of youth and experience. Players trying to make their mark and
the return of the Don,Big Dave and Marcus. Should be a good game but a tight one. I'm going for a
Chiefs win as i think the 16th man will make a difference. Chiefs 21- 18 Glos

Suspect it will be a tough challenge especially if the Glos pack are effective like last week in the final 5 with their mauling.
Still I’m going for a home win
Chiefs 23 - Glos 19

Pleased to see Street returning and Innard, Schickerling and Capstick starting. Disappointed to see Whitts starting again as I would prefer to see someone else given game time.. Danger areas are the Glouc maul and Twelvetrees always causes issues for us. I think the confidence from last week will help them squeak a victory. Chiefs 32 Gloucs 26

Think the players will again step up to the mark, we need this one so its 26 ~14 to the chiefs, as for my seat in the west stand i hope tonys installed a heated cushion as 2000 pounds for next seasons ticket needs justification. cry out loud.

Good to see Street back too.
From the Hootsmon:
'He could feature in their Gallagher Premiership matchday 23 to take on Gloucester at Sandy Park and, on his absence for the young Scots, Murray said: “Scottish Rugby’s mindset is that if a young player gets picked to play professional rugby then we won’t stand in their way.'
I suspect Scotland are also keen to keep Exeter happy as the 3rd Pro team in exile!

Looking at the table this is a must win game. Ex 27 Glos 22. That’s only if we prevent silly penalties and the Glos rolling maul.

Glous are one of the in form teams in the prem at the moment. The last few games I've watched hem in they look strong, with a heavy reliance on their maul. I think if you can stop that, by not giving away daft penalties, then you stop them.
Still think they look too strong for us, sadly. i really hope I'm wrong and we can replicate last week's performance. Chiefs 19 Glous 27

thanks TMC - I watched a bit of the Italy v England U20's game last night and they mentioned that one of the England players had been 'required' by Harlequins last week - they implied that clubs have preference (though, that may just be in England).

Club has always had first rights to under 20s players. Possibly because the Unions don't pay them??
Generally Rob has said that the club regards international honours as a compliment to club and player but with the under 20s happening at the same time as the 6 nations there have been cases in the past where we have retained players who would otherwise have played for England under 20s when we have needed the injury cover (as at present).

Clalan "surges" into the lead by dint of correctly predicting the result and Chiefs' points scored. Cornwall Chief and Bold Eagle continue their good form but lose the lead. Good close chasing field with six predictors with 30 or more points. The rest of us seem to be losing ground!
34 Points: Clalan
33 Points: Cornwall Chief; Bold Eagle
31 Points: Mike the Shirt
30 Points: Mrs PC; Osmium
28 Points: Fisher
26 Points: DumnoniiNomad; Ex 58
25 Points: Chief Firewater
24 Points: Big Chief Little Chief; Plympton Chief; Ouch That Hurts; The Stoke Canon; Thomas Hawk; Curry Chief
20 Points: ExTeddChief
19 Points: Keithbar54
17 Points: Last of the Beercans; Exeterfan
10 Points: Father Alice
Honourable mention to Scottish Chief who got the right result and was within one point of Chiefs' score with his first entry!
