Oh blimey not Dickson again.

Falcons 22 Chiefs 29

First time for five years I haven’t been to this fixture, best away day of the lot in my opinion. Safe travels to all going up for it.

Newcastle Falcons 27-21 victory at Gloucester in Round 10 ended a run of three successive defeats in Gallagher Premiership Rugby. Newcastle’s only victory at Kingston Park in Premiership Rugby in 2022 was when they beat Bristol Bears there on 30 September.

Exeter Chiefs beat London Irish 22-17 in Round 10 to end a three-game losing streak in Gallagher Premiership Rugby. The Chiefs only victory in their last four away games in Premiership Rugby was 50-14 at Bristol on 7 October.
Exeter have lost only once to Newcastle in any competition since January 2018 and that was by a solitary point at Sandy Park in November 2021. Exeter’s record at Kingston Park in Premiership Rugby is won eight, lost two

Without our 6 England and Scottish internationals and injury position again leads us to field a very youthful 23 in the main. A tough ask on that dreadful plastic pitch Newcastle 33 chiefs 24

I share the pessimism...

In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.

Sorry some pessimism here. Chiefs 24 Newcastle 28. Some of my pessimism caused by Rob's prematch interview - the piece where he says players picked on performance and training whether new or old. I do not see that at all when out of form players persistently appear in the 23. Rob used to say things like believe what you see in a performance - it is not reflected in selection IMO

Whitts in your sights CC? It is partially down to availability, I think. We are very short of fit centres and Kata has only just got back from his international commitments. The youngsters need blooding but not all at the same time.

Newcastle have some super quick backs, will definitely fancy themselves against us.
Think we'll get the TBP but end up on the losing side.
Newcastle 33 Exeter 29

Rob has always selected from those who perform in training that week, so no change there.
Due to the silly schedule which I cannot work out why when we’ve had a rest week, we play two game in less than 24 hours. Even the side for Newcastle shows it’s youth let alone the cup team, but they will not be lacking pace or heart.
Can’t judge which way it will go, the plastic pitch is a great advantage to the home side so a loss would not be a surprise.
This is the future heart of our team, so I think I will fall on the side of a tight Chiefs win.

Long way to go and end up with nothing so i think the boys will step up here and get a result, so 24. 14 to the chiefs and this is more a hope as we are not fully functioning yet .

Tricky one to call as it’s been a close run result based on the last couple of games. The side selection hasn’t been easy coming off the back of the internationals but think we’ll still win but not by a big margin.

Still quite a lot of pessimism in the air..

It might be worth looking at where we stand relative to other teams in the prem.

Most Points scored - 3rd

Most Tries scored - 3rd

Most Metres gained - 2nd

Most Carries - 1st

Most Clean Breaks - 2nd

Most Passes - 1st

The attack is not all gloom.

What is letting us down is

Most Breakdowns won - 11th

Most Penalties conceded - 2nd

Its still very salvageable imo.

Prawn Sandwiches are delicious!

Well done to those who travelled up - you were heard, top work.
The scoreline is misleadingly close as we were 2nd best for most of that and lacked physicality and attacking flair - the lesser spotted option B.
Hepher will shortly tell us that Falcons are a good team, a point on the road is par and that we are building nicely and he is excited. The pace of regression of this team is something to behold in terms of Squad retention, recruitment and attacking panache.

Rob takes a,step back, Ali takes over and the teams performances decline. Its obvious who is to blame.

Win or lose, I hope Yeandle continued to caress the faces of the try-scorer for 5 minutes after the ball was touched down.
