Roots and Manny FW are out, Ollie D and Dunne are on the bench. Not too many changes from the team that won so well last w/e. Hopefully keeping the winning formula. Haven’t seen the Munster team, but I expect they’ll come out all guns blazing after not winning last week at home.

As always, predicting a Chiefs win, but expect it to be close. Another fantastic occasion in prospect. This is a very exciting season to be a Chiefs supporter.

I think their bench is stronger than ours. I hope we carry on our good form

Think it will be tight, heart and head both saying a narrow win, Chiefs 29 - 24 Munster, but I wouldn't be too disappointed with LBP.

Munster have 4 injured back from last week but are still missing 6 of the most physically imposing forwards: Jean Kleyn, RG Snyman, Niall Scannell, Edwin Eogbo, Roman Salanoa, Peter O'Mahony.
Best number 8 has to play in the 2nd row. A 6 playing 8. SOB having to play on the wing because others are injured (Conway retired injured).
Emergency replacement hooker (ex Jersey).
2 academy players on the bench - one just out of school.
Tricky !
PS well done in Toulon last week.

Thanks coolbawn, with those absentees and rearrangements it should mean you are underdogs which I'm sure you'll love, but I'm still expecting a very physical and intense reaction from Munster to last week's result. Could go either way IMO, can't wait, shame POM won't be playing as he's one of my fav back row forwards.

Our nemesis from memory is O'Mahony who is not playing. Also Joe Carberry who is injured. Munster will be no pushover but I quite fancy the Chiefs to win. Few penalties, starting well and staying on the right side of the ref - Raynal - at the breakdown and scrum key. It will be very physical - hopefully no cards. Chiefs 36 Muster 26

I think we will be looking to follow up last week’s efforts strongly but they will not be pushovers so:

After last week it would be really churlish not to predict a Chiefs win wouldn’t it? Going to be hard though, Munster are always good.

I thought Roots was a penalty magnet last week most especially at the ruck. I also think Pearson has played well enough to deserve a start but not at Tuima's expense so quite happy with the selection personally.

Like Exeforever I think Pearson has earned his chance and has been the "most improved player" this season. Roots can be devastating in the tackle but does seem to live right on the edge of gratuitous violence.

Dont think there's any doubt on here at the moment that it's going to be a tough game. I'll add low scoring too, which will add to the tension! As has been said earlier in this thread, after last week it'd be churlish to predict against thd Chiefs, so in hope 18-13 to Chiefs.

In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.

Believe we will see this through, but Munster are tough cookies so not totally confident. As usual its all down to the pack, we have a great front row with very mobile units behind, so we should get good ball for the back division to work some magic. Be in good voice chaps, the young’uns are going to need it.

we need the lineout to work much better.

it would be nice if sometimes our number 8 picked the ball out of the scrum and pass to our 9 who is 5 metres away from the scrum and free to run. We dont seem to have many set plays from set piece has in the past, just 1 up runners and set up a ruck

On a vaguely connected note good to see Ewers putting in a big shift at 6 for Ulster in a great win over Racing.

Holy hell...good old fashioned Chiefs turnaround but only required because we let Munster catch us with our pants down twice in the first half. WBP flatters us a bit but I'll take it.

Thanks. How very true! Not just on the obvious couple times, but repeatedly during the game. A shame as momentum and intensity was lost as a result, and sir rightly kicked the interventions into touch.
