We have some confidence especially after last week's performance, and if we can start and play like we did in the first half we might have a chance. They are top for a reason but have a few significant injuries, but it will still be very tough to get a win up there. Team selection will be interesting.

Henry at 10! That’s a surprise, but makes sense. 2 strong teams, head says Bath but going with heart.

Game will be won and lost upfront and Bath look so superior to us in the pack and on the bench. Leaving an international lock on the bench and starting with a makeshift flanker at lock is crazy imo especially against probably the best pack in the league. Our backs look dangerous but doubt they will see much ball. Taken Henry years to get to play his favoured position.
Bath 45 Chiefs 10

Agree with you Andy. The pack is weaker than Bath. Capstick has gone well at lock during the Prem Cup games but this will be a sea change. We really do need some quality in the front row.
With Hawkins PNG, and Dunne apparently out of favour in the pack it’s interesting that Henry starts at 10 for the first time in what, 10 years?
I can only presume that the current coaching setup does not rate either Skinner or Haydon Wood for this fixture.

We always will be second fiddle against Baths pack, but as long as we hold our own and get the ball away, I would put our back division up against anybody. Centre looks strong so we will give as good as we get imho.
We have shot ourselves in the foot this season, throwing away games we were quite capable of winning in the last five minutes.
I believe the correct actions have been taken, and we are now getting our proper senior core returning to the team. I wait to get ridiculed by some on here, but that’s my opinion. Great ref by the way fare and considered.

I don't like the idea of starting Slade at 10. Yes move him there if required. I cannot see us winning this match so for me it's Bath 38 Chiefs 20

Barbeary and Redpath on their bench emphasises to me the strength of their squad. Slade at 10 suggests the blitz defence maybe binned . Against Gloucs in the prem cup we did try jackalling and slowing their ruck speed and remained for the most without infringing. Our pack looks underpowered compared to Bath's. If we compete legally at the breakdown, bin the blitz defence, and stay on the good side of the ref we have a chance. A reversion to our early season style of play will see a heavy defeat. I hope we see some green shoots but still expect a comfortable Bath win. Bath 38 Chiefs 26

Definitely feel Molina should be starting in the second row, but if he's to replace Capstick and Tuima play the full 80 then I can see the benefit as Capstick off the bench for either of those would definitely be making our second row weaker.

Think the backs are as strong as we are able to field, like the idea of Henry moving to 10 to accommodate what looks like a potentially excellent centre partnership. Getting him on the ball to dictate play should see a huge improvement.

With that said, I still think they have the edge over us so Bath 37 Chiefs 28. Very much hope I'm wrong.

Bath's strongest available squad will make it a very tough game for us to win, however if we can secure enough set piece ball we have the backs to cause them some problems. Head wins though Bath 28 - 24 Chiefs.

The Rec has become a difficult place for us to steal four points from and though we have a significantly stronger squad when compared to previous fixtures, I think Bath are too strong for us.

Would love to be proven wrong, though! Bath 37 - 24 Chiefs.

Safe journeys to all Chiefs fans coming up for the match - a reminder to leave in plenty of time as the Bath Christmas Market is on and that will cause the usual headaches for parking and getting into the City Centre.

2 Strong sides and hopefully will be a cracking match - really looking forward to seeing Russell up against Slade if anyone can step up Slade can but big ask and a lot will come down to who wins the forward battle.

Still we have a few missing in Underhill, Coetzee, Obano and Bailey, hoping for a good match. Best Wishes.

I’ve been pretty consistently wrong so far this season, so I see no reason to stray from that path.

By the way, I hope Sara Cox has the cojones to red card Quinn Roux for his inevitable violent play…

I like the look of that line up. Sladey at 10 makes sense! We can't afford to leave him out. It's important we build on Rigg/Tua as a solid partnership. Things have changed and I'm hopeful rather than confident that we could cause an upset 🤞
Bath 23 : Chiefs 27

In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.

Pleased to see Slade at 10, tho a big ask to knit the back line together after presumably little time to ‘run it’ in training.

Wow! Sladey at 10! Didn't see that coming!!
Although I like it as it should have been his natural position for the last 10 years and more it's not a vote of confidence in either of our current fly halves is it?
Agree with most of the other posters that our pack looks underpowered. I can see the logic in trying to move their pack around with mobility rather than strength but I will have my eyes closed at scrum time! Especially second half when our replacements come on after last week's scrum capitulation at Glos.
Its not a bad side but it's not our best and to beat them up there I think we would need our best side to play as well as they can.
Fingers crossed I am wrong 🤞

Our last game was a breath of fresh air albeit against a poor Gloucester first half performance. I agree that a good performance with positive tactics will be another big step forward. Keep Vermeulen on the pitch and we will go better.

Im looking out for jackals and offloads. If we can replicate the style of the win against Glaws then we stand a chance. It may also be an indication of whether the 'script' has changed or not.

FWIW, I loathe the laws pertaining to the jackal and its interesting to note that various pundits are starting to argue against it. But while its still legal, we absolutely have to be more competitive there.

Refs have a much better better view than fans, due to being on the pitch.

Agreed. The only point she failed to evaluate was that it was IFW on the wing! From the ‘buts’ she was making, you would have thought it was Hoani Tui out wide

My issue was not the ‘’Pen Try’ issue, more so the fact that she gave a ‘try on field’ when she was nowhere near the grounding and had to run around the back of our defence by which time the view was sealed off. She was actually poorly positioned at the time Bath ‘claimed’ the try
