Another tough game, it could be close and we desperately need a confidence boosting win but I can't see it coming this weekend unfortunately, Sharks 24 - 21 Chiefs.

Interesting with Josh on the bench. Wyatt is a great fullback and leaves Josh as cover for various positions.

Bookies have a sale massive favourites and on paper it looks a very big ask particularly if the weather is poor. Some squad players must be so disappointed at not featuring at all despite our ongoing 9 match top level losing run. I hope we can get something out of the game, but we look so vulnerable through the centres where defensively we are not strong. Christ, Will and Zac look totally out of favour by the coaches for some reason, can’t be form as they don’t get any minutes on the pitch.
Can’t see Sale not getting a try scoring bonus point so we will need to play some attacking rugby to get anything out of the game, our dreadful turnover count last week must be improved upon.

Sale 34 Chiefs 22.

Another week, another backline...

It does feel like the coaches are confused at the moment. And if they are, the players will be too.

Unfortunately, low expectations in sport frequently translate into self fulfilling prophecies. I dont think that the players will be expecting to be heading up the M6 for a win now.

Sale 38 Chiefs 25. I hope im wrong.

Sale look fully loaded for this one. Our pack are going to have to put in an immense shift to ensure their half-backs don't have an easy ride and instead give ours a platform to work from. If we weren't on the run we are I'd fancy us to get something from this, but as it is...

Sale 29 Chiefs 23.

I do not have a good feeling although if we got enough quick ball I could see us doing some damage. Even with a better second row I think we might struggle at the set piece and especially at the breakdown where they have some excellent jackallers. Two big worries. our defence especially in the centre and the number of pens we give away with George Ford in their side. Sale is a hard place to go even when confident. Sale 38 Chiefs 22

I'm struggling to make a decision on this one. Based on form it's Sale clearance & easy. However, I have a sneaking suspicion we will squeak it. Sales 21 Chiefs 27.

I can't help feeling that we are in the last chance saloon now. Despite the score the performance against Toulouse showed guts and some invention. Having watched the Glaws game tonight they are eminently beatable but if we get hammered by Sale I don't think we will have the mental strength to stand up to the Glaws attack next week.

Having Wyatt at 15 may be enough to spark the backs into life if we can win sufficient ball. I do think that the forwards are the best options currently in favour/form, particularly the second row with genuine locks being selected.

Hill's tendency to indiscipline, especially against the club that he left on less than amicable terms (if you saw his interviews when he joined Sale), may well play in our favour and Quirke hasn't played for so long that he cannot be match fit so there are grounds for hope, but if we lose I think that the whole season will hinge on beating Newcastle at home and picking up bonus points.

Qne win and 17 defeats would surely presage a total overhaul of the coaching team and, hopefully, of the management and hierarchy as well.

Two wins in a row and, looking at tonight's game, it is not unreasonable to suggest that a top 6 finish is not beyond us; though whether we want the current regime to survive (which it probably would in those circumstances) is a different matter altogether...

I too watched the Glaws game Exeforever. I also share your thoughts, Glaws are beatable at home. What really struck me though was how poor Quins were, they didn't turn up at all, that's the sort of break we're not getting. A lackluster opposition would be very welcome! We are very short of luck, if a few things had gone our way in the first few games we could be looking at things in a completely different way. No other prem team is going into this weekend having faced a trip to South Africa to play a team loaded with springboks filled by a game against the best club side in the world! To then have to travel to Sale for another physical battle may well be too much.

Nice to see a proper second row pairing, wish I could say the same about our centre pairing! Hammersly at 13 is a very odd choice to me. The inconsistentcy in our backline selection cannot be helping

Unfortunately Sale 34 Chiefs 19 please let me be wrong!! We just need that first win, the longer it takes the more it becomes an issue with confidence.

I believe changing the fifteen has improved our defence, and the pack will hold its own in the set piece. So 50/50 win or lose, but we are in a better place than pre cup games.

Sale 31 Chiefs 36 because it’s nearly Christmas. More in hope than belief but I just watched Bears rip Tigers apart away from home so time for a change in away performance. 🙏

Also confused about Hammersley at centre. Not sure what that says about our other true centres? Hope he shows us all very soon.
