Colchester 3-1 Sunderland

Sunderland's unbeaten run comes to an end at Layer Road.

The race for promotion heats up as Sunderland lose and Derby and the Blues both win.

 

Sunderland started the game badly with few shots on goal in the first half. Just before the break Colchester scored with a diving header from Brown. 10 minuets into the second half a cross from the left wing by Murphy found the head of Yorke to make it 1 all. Colchester retook the lead 8 minuets from full time with a shot from Garcia. Just 2 minutes from time Black Cat's captin Dean Whitehead triped Colchester striker Cureton in the box and gives away a penalty which is scored to make it 3-1 to the home team.

 

Sunderland's next game is against Burnley at the Stadium Of Light, this now becomes an even more important game for Roy Keane's men.
