U21 focus: Azerbaijan test before jetting off to Sweden

The England Under 21 side will make their final preparations for the European Championships with a fixture against Azerbaijan on 8th June. The fixture will take place at the MK Dons StadiumMK and the young side will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering their first home defeat in 2 years at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground against France in March.

The game comes shortly after a week in Spain, which will be spent preparing for the tournament in Sweden.  Stuart Pearce will be taking his final squad of 23 to the fixture in Milton Keynes, where he intends to use this as an opportunity for them to make a push for a place in the starting line up against Finland on 15^th June.

England’s youngsters are in Group B for the competition, where they will play alongside Finland, Spain and Germany.
