Capello names provisional squad

Fabio Capello has named his provisional 30-man squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The players named will travel to Austria in six days to commence their preparation. Jamie Carragher is called into the squad for the first time since Capello has been in charge, Michael Dawson (Tottenham) and Adam Johnson (Manchester City) are the only players named who currently have no England caps.

The full squad named by Capello are:

Goalkeepers:
Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green

Defenders:
Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock

Midfielders:
Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips

Forwards:
Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney
